I had the pleasure to work
with Tony when I was Chief Engineer at WMMM radio. He served as our Production Director in
addition his on-air duties. Tony's down-to-earth friendliness was apparent whether the
microphone was on or off. He was a true professional who took pride in his work and could
be always be counted on without fail. I rarely saw him get upset about anything, as Tony
managed to turn obstacles into opportunities.Tony radio career included several
stations in the Southern Connecticut area. He got his start at WNLK in Norwalk and worked
at WMMM in Westport, WGCH in Greenwich and WREF in Ridgefield. He also ran a small
recording studio in Westport that catered to industrial audio production for a variety of
corporate clients.
Tony had been a survivor of throat cancer early in life, but beat the odds to
re-embarked on his career in radio. Tony had suffered from poor health for a period of
time prior to the heart attack that would prove fatal. I will always cherish the
friendship I had with Tony and I know he will be greatly missed by many.
Tony is survived by his wife, Donna, and two sons, Robert Joseph and Anthony John
Napoleon.
