Programming Changes for WMMM-AM

WMMM Coffee Express Coffee Mug

Change was in the air for WMMM. In 1975 Program Director Terry Smith had been doing mornings in addition to his evening jazz program because morning announcer Stewart Greymount became disabled after suffering a diabetic attack while on the air. Exhausted from pulling double duty, Terry offered John LaBarca mornings in addition to his Sunday Italian-ethnic program.

As part of a promotional collaboration with Maxwell House, John's WMMM morning show was dubbed the "Coffee Express" and the station gave listeners jars of instant coffee along with Coffee Express mugs.
